I really don't see that a team's nationality or location has anything to do with my opinion(or anone else's opinion) of them. My opinion of a team, a driver or a team principal is not affected by their nationality.

I am Scottish not English so that probably causes even more confusion. For me all the people involved should be judged as individuals and not by who isuued their passport.

Yeah, I always found it hard to understand why this particular team (despite being a UK-based team) in the shape of either Benetton or Renault caused a rather negative reaction from UK F1 fans. It seems that the most popular team there is McLaren followed by Ferrari, then Williams. To be honest, the Anglo-Saxon brain is a mystery to me, I pretty much figured out the rest of Europe's nations but Britain - I give up, the cultural differences are just too huge to predict what a typical Englishman would say or do next. It's not an offence obviously, I'm just puzzled by the enigma. Maybe I should spend some time in the UK but the weather always puts me off.

I have frequently criticised Ferrari managemenr for all their crimes and I have had a go at Schumacher for ramming Hakkinen at Macau in F3.

None of that affects my original point that I find it odd that Flavio's team committed many offences but has been hammered for a sporting offence when they have been guilty of life-threatening offences in the past.

I feel that Flav just wanted to hold on to football. Anyway, ghosts from the past like him or Schumi should not be hanging around any more. I'm also happy that Renault F1 will be able to continue in the sport despite the actions of its former employees; they'll get fresh start with fresh blood.

I seem to recall that Flavio wasn't Shumi's boss when he performed his Jerez trick on JV or stalled the car in Monaco. The (in)famous 2002 Austrian podium fiasco - I wonder where are those people now? I mean if we're calling Flav (in the category of Schumi's boss) a cheat then we should apply this term to the former Ferrari management. They went unpunished for fixing race results and are still in the sport when all "poor" Flav has left is watching a group of brainless men kicking the ball for an hour and a half. You can really tell that I don't like football. If I end up in hell, it'll be the worst punishment for me - having to watch football for eternity. So in a way FB is in hell.

I find it odd that of all the crimes Flavio's team has been guilty of over the years this is the one that attracted a draconian penalty. His team has been guilty of far worse which has gone unpunished. He ran a team which gave Michael Schumacher carte blamche to punt other drivers off the track for example. A driver like Piquet exposing himself to the minor risk of injury at Singapore is one thing but Schumacher putting other drivers lives at risk is on a whole different level.
